In the Summer of 2015, Anna’s Anchor in conjunction with Never Meant Records embarked on an exciting and creative adventure like no other known as “The Islands”. Anna’s Anchor, the project of Irish based musician Marty Ryan, visited a different island off the coast of Ireland every weekend this June and July to play a gig, write and then record and release a song each week. The result of this project has been 8 honest and genuine songs with emo and punk tendencies akin to bands such as Into It.Over It and City & Colour. The remote, harsh and beautiful landscape has provided the perfect canvas for producing these songs that were completed in such a novel and challenging time frame. 8 weeks, 8 islands, 8 gigs, 8 songs and one collection of memories that can be listened to at annasanchor.bandcamp.com . With the project complete, the selection of songs are available in a limited edition softback picture book/cd format from www.annasanchor.com
