Where should I go? I'm afrtaid to be alone watching the undertow The town steps into the night Everyone goes about their life The distance between us all flows by the cement factory lights Drag me, across the river To see, that there is a glimmer Foundations scream Out along the estuary overcome with uncertainty The town steps into the night Everyone goes about their life Struggling to dull the edge As I follow along the fairy lights Drag me, across the river To see, that there is a glimmer

Cleeve's 03:23
Corrugated Iron Leads down to the lane Halfway lit up Helps to hide some of The shame that I'm not sure Why it's buried in me beneath a stack thats long been left be If the council's happy to leave it there Maybe they can let me be. The tide will climb To meet the road Drag me out to sea If there's no choice Can't say that I Wouldn't leave gladly I'll wait to find out Those bricks have always been there Long before the bridge They've seen all of my nightmares Hidden underneath it They face into an empty courtyard I hoped was for me and you A cathedral of industry I hold onto so desperately The tide will climb To meet the road Drag me out to sea If there's no choice Can't say that I Wouldn't leave gladly I'll wait to find out

Thought I saw your shadow Wandering in the night Your love for life perched by A cast-iron lamplight Not out of place for Dulwich or Herne Hill But worlds away So I'll just swallow the pill Because it said that It will rise with the moon If it does i'm sure It'll happen way too soon. I think this Is how you'll feel On your wedding day A hallowed heart As empty as the riverbed Peaceful danger trapped Inside of my own head As the hotel glass tries to look away. Its reflection is begging for one more day. Because it said that It will rise with the moon If it does i'm sure It'll happen way too soon. I think this Is how you'll feel On your wedding day

Thought this ground was sacred I think I was mistaken My freedom was ill found A rush felt never ending A skyline always changing Knotted stomach, homeward bound. I feel like the sky is so much closer It's crushing me in. Sat in a freezing chair No pressure from the air I remember their faces Shone through marina blue Desire to pursue Left it buried in wet clay. I feel like the sky is so much closer It's crushing me in.

Falls 00:59
Sorry you have to wait. I hope to see the day. I want to see the day.

One foot dragging on the other Rib cage splits in two So it can smother Any doubt i'd do it. My body's fighting With my mind To bite the bullet If this really is it I have no grounds to complain Roaring falls Pointed finger Choking up So that those thoughts Can linger Longer than they have to. Praying that the boardwalk would just fall right through. If this really is it I have no grounds to complain

Warning signs A patronising message You should be fine Reads a broken fluorescent Hung to an arch Like Ivy holds the ruin I won't let the funeral march No one ever talks about How we got there No one ever talks about Anything but themselves Christmas eve When my heart grows harder Castle Street Spares it for my father The island field Hears the bells From Mary's tower If I leave them off He'll be relieved No one ever talks about How we got there No one ever talks about Anything but themselves
8.
You could have stayed here, longer If I had asked when we were kids Before they left from the widows' houses No one ever really cared For this part of town Back when the tops of the walls Layed idle on the ground. When all we had was time I would paint every cobblestone At night the street was mine When all we had was time I would paint every cobblestone At night the street was mine I know you, Deserve the change And whatever comes its way But I can retrace your old footsteps all the same No one ever really cared For the oldest part of town That never mattered When you were around When all we had was time I would paint every cobblestone At night the street was mine When all we had was time I would paint every cobblestone At night the street was mine.

Derelict 04:40
Sat your back up to the wall Those Georgian bricks Won't break your fall But who am I to say? No high horse Left in town Brittle bones Are breaking down There is no reason to stay There's not much left between us now There's not much left between us I don't see any way Back from here The dream is over It's totally fucked But I survived this year. I've seen you age From day to day The streets are so poorly paved Do you feel the same? Clinging on for dear life On the balance of a knife Now I understand There's not much left between us now There's not much left between us I don't see any way Back from here The dream is over It's totally fucked But I survived this year.

Thank yous

Thank you so much to everyone that has supported this musical project, be it from way back in 2014 to more recent times. I find it hard to articulate my gratitude sufficiently because the level of support and belief that Anna's Anchor has received down through the years is unbelievable. This album was made possible by people like yourself coming to gigs, buying merch and shouting about it online. Not many bands are lucky enough to be in the position that this one is on, so from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU.

There is an endless amount of people to thank, too much to list on this record but Anna's Anchor would like to give a special thank you to the following:

Mike Gavin, Richard Dowling, Andy Hawkins, Grace Coakley, Clare O'Brien, Niall O'Sullivan, Devon Kerins, Meg Skelton, Ray Ryan, Aidan, Darina & Bailey Scally, Keith Kelly, Michael Hennessy, Adrian O'Connor, Mark McDaid, Kat Urbikaite, Brendan McInerney, Laya Kenny, Sephen Savavge, DIY LK and the greater Limerick music community, Limerick Arts office, Creative Ireland, Shane Serrano, Patrick O'Brien, Kate & Rob Flynn, Jamie Collison, Kevin O'Shea, Michelle Treacy, Seán McGowan, Seán Sheehy, Laurie Cottingham, Christoph Degenhardt, Bieny Terheiden, Ray Blackwell, Podge O'Donoghue, Matt Brasch, Casey Cavaliere, Brendan Maher, Connor Laws, Ben Pollard, Steven Hill, Oscar Hackett, Seán & Katherine Huber, Stu Daly, Dan Campbell, every single promoter & venue that has helped put on an Anna's Anchor gig, every single kind soul that let Anna's Anchor stay at their house and lastly, you for buying this record and allowing this project to exist, without you it'd be nothing.
